We’ve added another great gust to the ever growing guest list for the inaugural Comic Con Revolution this May 13th in Ontario California. We are pleased to announce that Ron Marz will be joining the revolution!

Marz, a longtime industry veteran, has worked for every major comic company in his career. Most notably he is known for his work on the Ominous Press titles, Green Lantern, Witchblade and as a founding creator at Crossgen Comics.

CHRIS BACHALO MAKES RARE APPEARANCE AT COMIC CON REVOLUTION


Comic Con Revolution being held on May 13, 2017(Ontario, CA) will feature superstar arists Chris Bachalo (Marvel, DC). That’s right — Chris Bachalo is coming to Comic Con Revolution this May 13th to join the revolution!

A legend and fan favorite in the industry, Bachalo is known for his iconic work on Shade: The Changing Man, Sandman, Death, X-Men and, most recently, Dr. Strange. He is making a very rare appearance at the show so be sure to bring your books for him to autograph.

Bachalo is the latest addition to our ever growing guest list for Comic Con Revolution. We’ve got a diverse guest list that is sure to be a highlight of the show. Add in a full exhibitor floor including over 100 creators in artist alley as well as a full day of programming and we are set to kick of the summer convention season in style.

Each of three launch titles have their own distinct look and feel, with subjects and settings ranging from graveyards to new schools, and storylines that share a common theme: a focus on friendships and relationships.


The line of books is being edited by bestselling writer and editor Mariah Huehner, formerly of IDW Publishing and Vertigo/DC Comics. In advance of Mariah McCourt’s appearance at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books (April 22 and 23) and Aaron Alexovich’s appearance at the C2E2 convention in Chicago that same weekend, Charmz is releasing an excerpt from their graphic novel STITCHED.

Perhaps no trend in book publishing has been stronger in recent years than the growth of the kids’ graphic novel category. At the recent Children’s Institute, Nielsen cited 24% growth in year on year sales. Hand in hand with that growth has been the emergence of female readers and female creators like Raina Telgemeier and Noelle Stevenson. But not all female fans of graphic fiction have been served equally. For tween girls who have loved but outgrown properties like THE SMURFS or Disney Comics but aren’t quite ready for the more mature content of books like THIS ONE SUMMER or HONOR GIRL, there’s been a distinct lack of material available. Now that’s all about to change, starting on May 2.

AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON STAR DAVID NAUGHTON COMING TO COMIC CON REVOLUTION!

Comic Con Revolution being held on May 13, 2017(Ontario, CA) will feature An American Werewolf in London star David Naughton coming to Comic Con Revolution. Best known for starring in the 80’s comedy horror classic, David also starred in Hot Dog…The Movie and his sitcom “Makin’ It” that spawned the hit TV theme song.

David will be appearing in our Guest Area on Saturday May 13th, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans. (Additional fees apply)

An Original Graphic Novel from the Creator of HELLBOY and the artist of HELENA CRASH

“This one started when a mutual friend pointed out Warwick Johnson-Cadwell’s affection for sad werewolves. Then Warwick and I exchanges a few words about vampires and that was it,” said Mike Mignola. “MR. HIGGINS COMES HOME is my very obvious nod to any number of old Hammer Dracula films and my all-time favorite vampire film, Roman Polanski’s THE FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS.”


In MR. HIGGINS COMES HOME, preparations begin at Castle Golga for the annual festival of the undead, as a pair of fearless vampire killers question a man hidden away in a monastery on the Baltic Sea. The mysterious Mr. Higgins wants nothing more than to avoid the scene of his wife’s death, and the truth about what happened to him in that castle. However, these heroic men, sworn to rid the world of the vampire scourge, inspire Higgins to venture out and to end the only suffering he really cares about–his own.


“Working on a project with Mike Mignola is an amazing thing to be able to do,” said Warwick Johnson-Cadwell. “His art and storytelling is a massive influence and inspiration for me and chatting with him about werewolves, vampires and the like was very exciting. When MR. HIGGINS COMES HOME turned up in my email I was in awe. It’s a rollicking vampire romp right in the Hammer vein and it’s a pleasure to be slapping that crimson goop they used for blood all over it.”


This outlandish tale, set outside the Mignolaverse, will go on sale in comic book stores on October 25, and in bookstores on October 31.


About Mike Mignola:


Mike Mignola’s fascination with ghosts and monsters began at an early age; reading Dracula at age twelve introduced him to Victorian literature and folklore, from which he has never recovered. Starting in 1982 as a bad inker for Marvel Comics, he swiftly evolved into a not-so-bad artist. By the late 1980s, he had begun to develop his own unique graphic style, with mainstream projects like Cosmic Odyssey and Batman: Gotham by Gaslight. In 1994, he published the first Hellboy series through Dark Horse. As of this writing there are twelve Hellboy graphic novels (with more on the way), several spinoff titles (B.P.R.D., Lobster Johnson, Abe Sapien, and Sir Edward Grey: Witchfinder), prose books, animated films, and two live-action films starring Ron Perlman. Along the way he worked on Francis Ford Coppola’s film Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992), was a production designer for Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001), and was the visual consultant to director Guillermo del Toro on Blade II (2002), Hellboy (2004), and Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008). Mignola’s books have earned numerous awards and are published in a great many countries. He lives somewhere in Southern California with his wife, daughter, and cat.
